RE: Highland Springs Recreational Area Trail System Improvement
Dear Ms. Riley and Ms. Sullivan,
The members of the Lake County Sheriffs Search and Rescue met last week to discuss the request for endorsement of the trail expansion at the Highland Springs Recreational Area. After lengthy discussion of the enormous benefits of the trail system for our services to the citizens of Lake County and the opportunities available in the future the membership voted unanimously to endorse the expansion of the trail system at the recreation area. Search and Rescue has responded to many calls over the years for assistance to the area as well as our regular usage of the trails for ongoing training of our members. The current expansion of the trail network has made the area so much more useful for the ongoing activities of Search and Rescue.
The one suggestion we have is that a signage and the creation of a map system for the trails be completed. This would add great assistance to us as a group when providing services to the citizens of our community.
Please let us know of anything Lake County Sheriffs Search and Rescue can provide to forward this project.
Sincerely, Barry Troedel, President Lake County Sheriffs Search and Rescue
