Bernie leads the field among voters younger than 50, independents, progressives of all ages, and economic populists.
But Bernie will not be on the ballot in November 2020 unless he wins the PRIMARIES.
California's primary will be on March 3, 2020.
California's primary is semi-closed, which means that only voters who are registered as Democrats or NPP (no party preference) can vote for any of the Democratic candidates.
If you are registered as Green, Libertarian, American Independent Party (which is not the same as "independent") or any other party except Dem or NPP, you will NOT be able to vote for Bernie on March 3.

For most Americans, the answer to that question today is probably different from what it would have been 100 years ago, when the majority of the population actually did live in rural areas. But the truth is, we are still essentially the same people with the same values, despite the demographic shift toward urban life. We remain the living descendants of 1700's era rebels who embarked on a grand new experiment called "democracy."
Party politics has increasingly pitted Americans against other Americans, when in truth, most Americans share the same values of decency, community, work, love of family and love of freedom. We have far more in common with each other than anything that divides us.
To find the truth, one need journey back to the founding of this nation, when noble, egalitarian ideals were given concrete form by farmer Thomas Jefferson and the other Founders of this then-rural nation, inspired partly by the example of the first representative democracy in the Americas, the Native American Iroquois Confederacy. Our REAL HISTORY pages will explore the core values inherent to America's origins as a modern democracy.
LakeCounty is definitely rural, and the values it represents in the public's mind depends upon who you are talking to. In the past it leaned "red" while today it leans "blue." In the 2016 presidential primary, the percentage of Lake County that voted for Bernie Sanders dwarfed the number that voted for either Trump or Clinton. The times they are a-changin'
What draws newcomers to LakeCounty? Among other things: an abundance of natural, unspoiled beauty, clean air and water, the lure of living where wholesome food can be grown without fear of contamination, opportunity to put sustainable living or farming concepts into practice, and the chance to own an affordable piece of paradise.
